Technical Sales Specialist - Contract

Overall Responsibility:

Coordinate technical sales support processes, implementations and other sales support activities. Provide liaison for Sales with Services Department.

Principle Responsibilities:
  • Deal directly with customers either by telephone, electronically or face to face
  • Respond promptly to customer inquiries and obtain and evaluate all relevant information to handle inquiries and any complaints that may arise
  • Process orders, forms, applications and requests and manage customers' accounts
  • Responsible for evaluating proposed customer solutions on prospective and current accounts
  • Responsible for supporting quality timeline of an account from the sales process to securing an order from the customer, through to production and delivery
  • Provide a technical/functional resource in pre-sales discussions
  • Manage administration, document and maintain customer interactions and transactions
  • Communicate and coordinate with internal departments


Knowledge / Skills / Abilities:
  • MUST HAVE a minimum of three years experience providing technical sales support
  • Must have an overall understanding of the technical sales environment and process, pricing, quotation to sales and managing an existing database
  • Must be able to organize activities and handle multiple projects simultaneously with effective and timely follow-up on each
  • Possess a positive attitude while operating under pressure, and be an independent problem-solver
  • Has the ability to function within a team and to work effectively with peers
  • Demonstrates ability to work on multiple tasks and projects simultaneously and to manage one's time and contacts effectively and efficiently
  • Possesses excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Good organizational and administrative skills
  • Strong sense of customer service.
  • Accuracy and attention to detail


Qualities:
  • Good mathematical understanding
  • Purchasing experience - materials, costings
  • Sales & performance mgt experience
  • Liaise with production
  • Delivering times will be measured


Computer skills:
  • Must be adept in use of MS Office, particularly Excel, Word, and Access.
  • Knowledge of drawing software would be an advantage.
